Part 8

Dealing with setbacks

It’s ok to ask for help from others.

  • Ask for help from your family and friends.

  • Walk away and try cool down activities rather than shouting or having an argument with your family.

  • Let your family know what you need and how they can help.

  • Think about whether more help from professionals is best, instead of a website.

  • Talk to your GP (i.e., family doctor) about where to go for help.

  • Remember the list of places here, including numbers you can call any time of day or night.

  • You can call the Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 or for parents and carers you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14 in an emergency. Remember these resources for help.

  • You can also get help at:

Youth Focus (Western Australia)- ph: (08) 6266 4333 or https://youthfocus.com.au

Headspace (Australia wide) - 1800 650 890 or https://headspace.org.au/online-and-phone-support/

You are not alone on this journey. Reach out for support when you need.

Be kind to yourself! Remember what you did well.

Talk to yourself the way you would a friend.
