Many people get into “all-or-nothing thinking”.

Something is either “good” or “bad”, “right” or “wrong”, without any middle ground in between.

These kinds of thoughts can make you feel sad and stressed.

Here are some examples for Riley, Jamie and Bailey.

Example All-Or-Nothing Thinking That's Like Me!
Bailey Because I find it hard to listen at school, I am going to fail.
Riley If I don’t see my friends all the time, there is no point catching up at all.
Jamie No one will understand, so there is no point talking.
