Part 4

Riley’s experiment:

Remember Riley?  Here is an example of an experiment Riley did.

Each experiment you conduct is a powerful opportunity for growth and self-discovery.

1) My thought (rate how strong from 0 to 10):
My friend will not want to catch up with me because I have been so sad (9/10).
2) Experiment: How can I test the thought.
Ask a friend if they want to go to the shops after school.
3) Results:
When I asked my friend, they said they wanted to go. They didn’t say anything about me being sad. I had fun. I felt less sad.
4) What I learned:
It was not true that my friend does not want to see me. I felt much better going out than staying home.
5) New thought (rate how strong from 0 to 10):
My friend still wants to see me (8/10). I feel less sad when I am out (9/10).
