Part 4
Riley’s experiment:
Remember Riley? Here is an example of an experiment Riley did.
“Each experiment you conduct is a powerful opportunity for growth and self-discovery.”
1) My thought (rate how strong from 0 to 10): |
My friend will not want to catch up with me because I have been so sad (9/10). |
2) Experiment: How can I test the thought. |
Ask a friend if they want to go to the shops after school. |
3) Results: |
When I asked my friend, they said they wanted to go. They didn’t say anything about me being sad. I had fun. I felt less sad. |
4) What I learned: |
It was not true that my friend does not want to see me. I felt much better going out than staying home. |
5) New thought (rate how strong from 0 to 10): |
My friend still wants to see me (8/10). I feel less sad when I am out (9/10). |
