What are common effects of loss?

Many kids say they feel very tired.
😡 Anger –
Some kids can feel very angry.
They may feel angry at themselves or other people.
😢 Sadness –
Crying and sadness is normal.
But not all children cry.
😖 Stress –
Some kids feel worried and stressed.
They might notice their heart beats faster.
😔 Apart from others –
Many kids feel alone after a loss.
Often it can be hard to talk to people about it.
You can worry people will not understand.
😳 Shame –
Sometimes kids feel bad or that there is something wrong with them.
They can worry about feeling different to their friends.
Sometimes they think they shouldn’t feel the way they do.

Kids can feel bad for not telling the person they loved them.
It is common to feel guilty when having fun, or feeling happy.

It is normal to feel relief.
For example, Bailey felt relief after Nanna died that she was not in pain anymore.

Sometimes kids can feel sick, like having an upset stomach.
